Paragraph I’m going to talk about below:

> **Paragraph from**
>
> You can think of many goals, evaluate which plans/solutions will succeed and fail at which goals, and decide which goals you’ll actually pursue in your life. That’s a big improvement over having one vague goal. Deciding on clear goals, and using binary goals (goals that label all outcomes as either success or failure), lets you figure out which issues/problems/errors are actually relevant and important.

First sentence:

> [@Judging and Fixing Your Own Errors](https://discuss.criticalfallibilism.com/t/judging-and-fixing-your-own-errors/492/1):
>
> You can think of many goals, evaluate which plans/solutions will succeed and fail at which goals, and decide which goals you’ll actually pursue in your life.

I wonder how many is “many goals”? Also, why are we thinking about many goals? I think it’s probably cuz we got a bigger goal at hand that we want to accomplish. I think it’s for a project. Maybe a mini-project but a regular sized project.

When the sentence says:

> [@Judging and Fixing Your Own Errors](https://discuss.criticalfallibilism.com/t/judging-and-fixing-your-own-errors/492/1):
>
> evaluate which plans/solutions will succeed and fail at which goals,

I think that’s the first time I’ve seen “evaluate” in the article. It seems after control + f ing, that’s the only time that “evaluate” is mentioned.

You do the step above after thinking about many clear goals. Oh ok, you don’t necessarily right away think about all the success and failure of each goal. You could probably tho.

I notice in the quote above that there’s “plans/solutions” I think using those is how you can tell if a goal will fail cuz of an error? I don’t see how seeing if a goal will pass or fail cuz of an error is related to evaluating which plans/solutions will fail at which goals. They sound like different things

I see the format of the quote above: which x will fail or succeed at which y. X is plans/solutions and y is goals. That all means that when you think of goals, you’re going to see if your plans/solutions for a goal are going to fail. After doing that now you know which plans/solutions are going to fail for that goal. If you find that out for all the goals then you can do what’s said in the quote above.

Edit: The collapsed paragraph is from “Judging and Fixing Your Own Errors”

Idk why it didn’t get quoted as ET’s words
