First sentence:

Is fear the oldest survival mechanism?? What are some survival mechanisms we have??? And by “we’ve got,” does that mean as humans or dating back to our earliest evolutionary chain?

Second sentence:

Fear teaches us to avoid dangerous situations in the future through a brain process called negative reinforcement.

I wonder what “teaches” means here. Like, a teacher from school? Or something guides our learning?

The goal of fear seems to be for us to avoid dangerous situations in the future. So I think that means that when something dangerous happens in the future, fear has taught us to avoid that. Maybe it taught us how to deal with it. I don’t think it taught us how tho

This is the process that fear uses I think to teach us to avoid danger in the future:

through a brain process called negative reinforcement.

There’s a process it seems that takes place in the brain. The process called negative reinforcement happens in the brain. Or maybe the brain is in charge of the process.
