A thought inspired from all the stuff in the Comments on The Boyfriend's Introduction to Feminism thread:
I don’t know what to make of my general shift in political stuff. I kinda grew up liberal (well friends media and other stuff, parents were/are apolitical). Agreed with conservatives around high school going through a libertarian phase or whatever. Kept with those ideas until I stopped caring about politics. Now I have a more favorable opinion on “liberal” politics.
My confusion(?)/thoughts more so revolve around my feelings on starting to see the problems with amyn conservatives and conservative view points. Like trans stuff. I was more-or-less anti trans. The voicing informing me of this political issue were against it so I followed them. Now I’m more sympathetic and think that the right is wrong and mean about these issues (though I don’t have a thorough understanding of trans issues, tbh thats true for many political issues). I wonder why?
Was the right always kinda this bad? No. I’ve heard that things have been made much worse cause of Trump. Yet were these things they got wrong before? Yeah ig.
I’m just confused(?) I think because of how much I’ve been lied to. Idk.
