OK, then I don’t think I can make sense of the reason for the statements you quoted from your original post, like:
I guess it’s true that at least in terms of averages, 100 people can perform 100x the number of simple mathematical operations as 1 person can. But so what / why care? 1 electronic computer can perform a million-x, billion-x, or trillion-x the number of simple mathematical operations 1 person can.
The second sentence is even more confusing in the context of mathematical capacity:
Especially after the invention of electronic computers, people are not significantly valuable for their mathematical capacity. People are valuable for their thinking capacity. So would an AI. Right? Any idea what I’m missing here?
