There’s a weird semantic issue here. I would call most utilitarian theories altruistic, because they take something other than one’s own life to be the fundamental standard of value. However, such theories are not altruistic the sense that’s relevant to your argument, because they say one should act according to one’s own ideas about how to maximize the utility function. In other words, they seem to be compatible with being first-handed.
