Does your plan – does the series of steps by which you get corrected – rely on the smart thinker, with the good idea, first changing a bunch of other people’s minds, and then later after his idea becomes popular you’ll consider it?

The bit “and then later after his idea becomes popular you’ll consider it?” strikes me as a problem. Also the second “does” seems unnecessary.

I think this should read something more like;

Does your plan – the series of steps by which you get corrected – rely on the smart thinker, with the good idea, first changing a bunch of other people’s minds, with you considering his idea only after it becomes popular?
