Crediting Critical Fallibalism in a Youtube Video

Topic Summary:
Hello, I want to make Youtube videos on Marvel Rivals about improving your aim using a small skills approach. I’m planning on making small videos first and then maybe make a bigger more general video. For the small videos I was going to show myself doing easy aiming routines with one character and trying to emphasize building off of those easy aiming routines.

I was wondering since I’m using automatization, practice, and doing small skills from CF, does that mean I have to cite my sources? Can I just put a disclaimer in the beginning of the video saying, “The ideas behind practice and learning skills are not my own. If you would like to know more about those ideas visit https://criticalfallibilism.com/ or see the description with links to topics related to learning and practicing.”

I’m thinking I should probably do more research on citing sources so I get an answer.
Goal:
I want to show how easy in a sense learning how to aim is and cite the ideas of the video. I want for people who are interested to see the ideas behind CR for themselves.
CF Relevance:
Citing Critical Fallibalism articles.

That’s probably fine. It depends how specifically (in detail) you’re using unique CF ideas. If you’re focused on video games then you don’t have to do much. After you make your video, you can save it as unlisted and share a link here for feedback.

Yeah, I was thinking if I talk about automatization and CF things out right in the video then I should cite the unique ideas.

For sure I wanna share here first before posting the video

Here’s a vid I uploaded recently(I typed a transcript below for easy reading). It’s unlisted btw:

I’m trying to learn how to make thumbnails before I upload.

Transcript:

0:00-0:06: Disclaimer: The ideas behind a small skills approach and how to practice were not created by me.

0:06-0:13: If you would like to know more about them visit https://criticalfallibilism.com/ or view the links in the description with topics related to small skills, learning and practice.

0:13-0:19: Hey, everyone. In this video, I’m going to show how you can practice as Black Widow.

0:19-0:23: I’ll be doing this using a small skills approach.

0:23-0:30: In this video, a small skills approach is about making small improvements to your gameplay that you get better as a player overall.

0:30-0:34: In other words…

0:34-0:39: Small Wins = Better Black Widow Gameplay

0:39-0:43: Now, on to the gameplay:

0:43-0:49: First, I’ll be focusing on shooting the target from the right side.

0:56-1:03: Practicing on the target like this helps with enemies who are still, moving forward, moving backward, in a stun, or in a locked animation.

1:11-1:17: You may be wondering, why am I shooting from only one direction and not also the other?

1:18-1:21: The answer to that is:

1:21-1:26: Muscle memory

1:31-1:37: The muscle memory needed to shoot from the right side is different from the left. Each side requires different movements of your hand/thumb.

1:37-1:43: The more you practice on one side the more muscle memory you build on it.

1:43-1:49: Ok, now I’ll be moving on to shooting from the left side.

1:54-2:00: Admittedly, my aim from the left side has less muscle memory than from the right.

2:01-2:06: This leads me to miss more of my shots.

2:07-2:13: That’s ok though, because I’ll dedicate more practice time to shoot from this side.

2:26-2:31: The muscle memory for each side may vary for you.

2:32-2:38:If have about the same muscle memory for both sides, and want to hit more of your shots, I still recommend shooting from one side.

2:39-2:46: This will make learning to hit your shots literally x2 easier. That’s because shooting from one side is more consistent than from both sides.

2:56-3:03: I’m going to fast forward me practicing.

3:07-3:12: I do this routine for 2-3 more minutes btw

3:14-3:20: You don’t have to do a routine for that long just until you feel you made some improvement.

3:21-3:27:If you’d like to see how to improve your aim on a moving target, stay tuned for the next video of this series.

3:27-3:33: I’ll also show how you can use bot matches to improve your skills into quickplay and even competitive!

3:33-3:37: Thanks for watching.

You might want to move bringing up CF from the start to the end so viewers are less likely to stop watching immediately. The first few seconds of videos like this are important to hook viewers to watch more. I don’t think the credit needs to be upfront for a gaming video. Try to say something at the very start that would get people to want to watch the video.

The game looks like it takes inspiration from Overwatch.

Ok, that makes sense i think ill move it to the end.

Yeah, it’s like an essay that uses a hook to keep the reader engaged.

Ok ill try to think of some stuff to say

Here are some hooks I thought of:

#1:You know all those guides on how to get good at Widow? (show a collection of thumbnails and videos from other creators talking in the background so it sounds like they’re talking about random things)

From youtubers to coaches

Well, they’re all wrong.

They tell you how to get good in an overall sense. What I’ll do in this in this video is tell you how to get better in a micro sense.

#2:You know those overwhelming amount of guides that tell you how to get better at black widow?

Well, they’re all wrong.

They focus on the overall details too much.

I’ll focus on the concrete stuff that’ll get you better today.

#3:
99% of players are practicing Black Widow wrong.

You might be getting the wrong advice from youtube guides and coaches all over the internet.

They tell you to focus in a general sense to improve your gameplay. I’ll tell you specifically what you need you work on to get cracked at black widow.

#4:Are you sick of beating your head against the wall trying to get good at Widow?

Are you tired of practicing hours on end and barely seeing any results?

After this video, you’ll get results in a way no other guide on youtube has been able to.

#5: Are you tired of missing your shots?

Do you want to improve in a way that doesn’t cost endless time and energy for minimal results?

Do you want to get better TODAY?

After watching this video, you’ll know how.

#6:
Are you missing your shots?

Are you not making good plays?

Do you want to get better in a way that doesn’t feel like youre bashing your head against the screen for little progress?

What do people like?
Getting better at a game
hitting their shots
making great plays
making progress

Things that suck:
Putting in lots of time and effort only for minimal progress
Bashing your head against the wall getting nowhere
brute forcing only for small progress
confusing where to get better
too much time spent
too much energy
not cracked/great as a player

I’m gonna look up how to make a hook for videos and come back

Haven’t watched your video yet, but just reading this one my brain went to: “Why should I care about getting better in a micro sense, especially if thats what youtubers and coaches recommend?”

I do like the other hooks though.

Yeah, im thinking something similar like how is the micro sense better than overall sense? Overall sounds better.
