Project Summary:
Do typing practice for 10 mins on monkeytype and share a thought that I got from the practice. Type on monkeytype 200 most common words 60 second test.
Goal:
Get better at writing.
Get better at expressing thoughts and opinions.
Get more accurate at typing
Get faster at typing
Success criteria (& optional failure criteria):
Do 60 second tests for 10 mins and share an idea. The idea is a sentence that shares something about the practice. The idea could be an observation about typing, a comment on a technique, or maybe about getting better at typing.
Big picture goal, why you want to do this, or CF relevance:
I form a different opinion on projects. Maybe it’ll help me want to do more projects in the future.
Plan:
Straightforward typing for ten minutes and try to write a sentence about the practice. I’ll say one sentence like I finished and another sentence for the idea.
Ok, I practiced for ten minutes. I noticed trying to type my fastest ends up with me making more mistakes and while trying to type at a slightly slower speed lets me be more accurate and actually faster.
Sounds a bit awkward. Grammatically not sure if it counts as a sentence. It’s still communicating some ideas. I didn’t think I would end up trying to communicate more than one idea. I want to try again:
I notice that when I to type my fastest I end up making a lot of mistakes.
That sounds better. I didn’t think typing a sentence would be hard actually. Maybe next time I shouldn’t specify sentence in the success criteria. Make it more simple.
I did the first part of the success criteria which is type 60 second tests for 10 mins. The second part not so sure. I could try to convey something smaller like, “Typing fast is hard.” That would definitely satisfy the success criteria. Maybe I’ll try the project again next time.
