Kids should get covid vaccines.

Tesla is now worth a trillion dollars. 4x Toyota. Something’s really wrong with the world.

Based on the clickthroughs that got counted, y’all don’t care about how our society hurts female teens :frowning:

Do you think that people should want to pay for a WSJ subscription to read that article?

No. I don’t have a WSJ subscription. The article wasn’t paywalled for me when I posted it.

It’s paywalled for me now but I know 2 solutions:

  1. Web search the title then visit it via the search result. Tested and worked for me with both DDG and Google in Mac Safari. My understanding is search engines said basically “either let our links to your articles work or else we don’t want to show your articles in search results”. Search engines normally only find/show public data which their scrapers can reach without logging into stuff. I think the newspapers were removing the paywall when they saw the user agent for googlebot and other search sites, but then putting it back up when users tried to come from google, which was lame… So now this method of viewing articles frequently works.

  2. Use the free browser extension Bypass Paywalls. Tested with Mac Firefox.

I got 2 recent highly-positive comments on this 2017 video.

Amusing reddit post presents a butchered version of the Harry Potter book 1 plot. It’s trying to explain to people who have read Harry Potter but not Wheel of Time why the Wheel of Time TV show sucks.

Door Dash employees mad about having to do 1 food delivery a month. Lots of the peanut gallery agrees with them!? There’s other good stuff on his channel.

I think optimism as explained in BoI is one of the most important ideas ever. But when I read the idea in BoI I experienced it as an academic presentation but you talked to me like a person would. I will give an example because I think that will better explain what I mean in the previous statement. Reading about optimism was like reading F=Ma in a physics textbook and listening to you was like talking with an architect and him explaining to my why I cannot build my house in a certain because the design I am trying to make is structurally weak. So thank you for making this video. It is indeed very inspiring.

One of the reasons why I didn’t praise this video was because after watching this video I wasn’t able to come up with actions I can take towards betterment to get something like compounding improvement going. But that is not a problem with you or the content in the video, it is a problem with me. I first watched this video a year ago while doing other things so most of the content passed by me so it wasn’t useful to me that time. I heard the podcast version of this two months ago and this time I understood it more and I found it to be more inspirational. Since then I have listened to this on repeat atleast 10 times. I still don’t have an actionable plan yet.

The plan I’m trying to help people with is studying philosophy. I’m making and sharing educational materials.
