Emergence and Reductionism

I remember reading some stuff about Emergence and Reductionism a long time ago in some Objectivist article collection (I’ll probably look for the original article at some point). I looked up the author (I did this with other article authors,) and came across this website (wayback machine link because original website is down, also idk if this is that authors website i cant find a name on their):

I read a bit of the stuff and found it interesting. Oh yeah, I’m sharing this because I realized the other day that I think of the concept of emergence and reductionism quite a bit (specifically, I read some economic stuff for class recently and thought maybe economics is an emergent(?) science).

Does anyone have any familiar with this topic?

Ok. It was from The Objectivist volume 7 called Biology without Consciousness - And Its Consequences by Robert Efron.

In the process of finding this I came across an article in The Objectivist Forum about science that mentioned Popper. I looked up the article wondering if theirs any online versions of it. Couldn’t find it, but I did get an AI overview of it. Two of the things it referenced was from Elliot:

Title, author and volume?

James G. Lennox, “The Anti-Philosophy of Science”, The Objectivist Forum Volume 2

It’s the article that Binswanger is referencing in the above BoI group/curi post.
