Dface's Discussion of "Judging and Fixing Your Own Errors"

I’m writing about the collapsed paragraph below:

The paragraph

The first sentence:

“This” means considering goals that the error causes failure at and goals that succeed anyway. Doing that requires the following:

It looks like you gotta think about a lot of clear goals. I wonder why so many goals?

I don’t know right off the bat what specifying a clear line between success and failure looks like.

I think the goal, “Walk outside for 5 minutes” probably specifies a clear line for between success or failure. As long as Im outside walking for at least 5 minutes then I’ll pass my goal. If I go inside my house before my time’s up then I’ll fail at the goal.

I think if you think of a lot of goals like that then you can tell if the error causes failure for any of them. If it doesn’t then that goal is fine.

Why do you think of a lot of goals tho? Idk but it seems like you do it to acccomplish a bigger goal. It seems like you’re trying to do a project. Why else would you be thinking about other goals? You’re trying to see if an error is important or not no? I don’t remember

The second sentence of the paragraph above:

What is a mindset shift? Thinking about many goals that the error may or may not cause failure at?

I think common thinking is, “why am I messing up so much on this goal I have?” Idk
