Its just you. Download BG historian and check your actual win rate. I too believe i was winning only 20% of my games and then BG historian helped me stop bullshitting myself. I hover between 60 and 65% win rates for a given week. Around 40-50% win rate as an alliance imposter. Your mind is just fucking with you.
Guy admits being so biased he thought he had a 20% win rate, but then when he got the computer to track his win rate, it was between 60% and 65%. Losses stand out to him more than wins. They get more emotional attention. He (IMO reasonably) believes this is normal and applies to many other people.
This sucks because I preordered Warcraft Reforged to get access to the classic Warcraft 3 to play with a friend. I think they even force people now to launch Reforged and people can’t access Classic Warcraft 3 anymore which is just awful. (Some people complaining about that here: Cant Access WC3 Anymore? - #4 by Hat1-11805 - Technical Support - Warcraft III: Reforged Forums)
It was surprising how the Warcraft 3 community was still thriving with lots of the old mods being maintained and played and new mods being made. Idk why Blizzard shut all that down in some misguided attempt to move that playerbase over to a broken game like Warcraft Reforged.

Why We Sleep: a tale of institutional failure - Articles - Yngve Hoiseth documents how UC Berkeley (and some book publishers) did not care or do anything about the misconduct which includes editing a graph to remove some data that contradicted the desired conclusion/trend.

Thanks for sharing. I saw Matt Walker’s Ted talk two years ago shared by a colleague and it got me interested in sleep in general. It’s good to know that a lot of it was misinformation and made up just for shock value and popularity. I should have done more research myself before believing the stats he shared. I definitely personally suffered from some of the issues Guzey pointed out, like people having anxiety about not getting enough sleep and then losing out on more sleep due to that.
I liked your content on sleep better when I discovered it which was basically just sleep when you’re sleepy and aim to get a total around 7-8 hours overall, including naps. (Not meant to be quoting, just writing what I remember.)
Also interesting that some of the evidence Guzey shares suggests that there might be value in sleeping less for some people, although it looks like the research is correlation based.
Thanks again for sharing. I found it useful personally to dispel some of my misconceptions and make me more skeptical of “experts” in general who share scientific data and their conclusions from studies.
