Yeah, I dont remember exactly where I got it from. I do remember reading stuff from ET’s replies to me on my self-help book thread and some of his replies to @Eternity in his Async Tutoring thread.
One of ET’s replies I liked was this one:
I liked it cuz it showed me I don’t have to be at my best all the time. It made me think a lot about how I make posts and replies and how I edited them a bunch to make them “good”.
I’m wondering if you had read that too.
Yeah, I did read that. I think it made me think a lot about averages and our average work.
I know that ET talks about averages like not just in the work we do, but I think in stuff we regularly do like our behaviors. One of the behaviors is like being a jerk once a week still makes the person a jerk and is part of who they are. I think the point I got is there is average stuff that we do and I thought maybe it applied to our writing as well.
I got really tired of rewriting stuff a lot and I thought maybe the first thing we write is enough in a way cuz that’s we’re able to do without a lot of effort. Maybe some edits here and there to fix spelling and mistakes. I thought if we do something on average then that’s what we’re capable of and we can fix the stuff we have a lot of trouble.
I also I switched to my computer to write the rest of the post from my phone after I replied to your last quote. I think I type better on my phone than on my computer somehow like I don’t second guess myself a lot.
