World of Warcraft

i think so, idk how to tell.

you can watch YT/streams to find out

looks like ~instant BG queues for alliance in this vid:

thinking i should switch to alliance, make a new account and boost a gnome mage to 58.

if we lose too much and that’s not fun, maybe a good solution is partial premade. like queue with some decent ppl but not a full team to help even it out more. that may be better than being horde and trying to team with other ppl with long queues (even worse than long queues without trying to coordinate with ppl) or running into a bunch of premades. getting stomped by a premade is more unbalanced than losing in PUG vs PUG.

i played some priest yesterday (dueled IR’s mage and druid, and healed ramparts dungeon) and i pretty sure i like mage best.

feral druids have a major bug in classic tbc that’s nerfing them like 10-20%

went alliance. decided short BG queues are better than will of the forsaken.

gnome’s mount sound is really annoying.

bing searched it. ppl have complained about gnome mount sounds before, and a few others like hunter bow and gun sounds. i found a fix but u have to edit game files to replace the sound with a silent sound file. it’s not an add-on. so i won’t do it. i’m too scared of being banned for hacking.

Went ally for BG queues and Blizz screwed us. Thinking I should probably just go back and figure out slave pens boost to re-level. (Nearly 66 on gnome mage.)

Things I figured out about Kara after first raid (we stopped after 1 wipe on Aran but will do one more session this reset; i’m playing frost mage):

  • On Maiden, repentance has a fast cast that you can’t react to. You can estimate when it will come based on 30s cd. But I can just use ice block and pvp trinket to get out of the stun.
  • Maybe I could react to repentance by blinking in. I also need to test if you can blink to break repentance stun.
  • On Aran, need to touch the wall for his arcane explosion, not just be close to the wall (i stood up against a piece of furniture next to the wall, instead of on the furniture touching the wall, and i died).
  • On Illhoof, I think I shouldn’t Blizzard when there are only 3 adds. I should frost bolt until more adds build up and only blizzard when the adds are getting more scary. It’d also be good to use icy veins for the blizzards because sometimes the adds will shoot me and then i lose blizzard casting time, which got me low on mana. (If low mana and need to kill adds, I could flamestrike so spell pushback just costs time but not mana, plus no adds will attack me before the first flamestrike is done casting, whereas with blizzard they can attack me during the first cast).
  • On the Wolf, as little red riding hood, you can run behind the big object on stage. On my first circle I wasn’t sure and didn’t hug the wall but there’s space to go behind it.
  • My mana was basically fine even with no mana talents from arcane tree (2 arcane, 59 frost).
  • Adept’s Elixir is cheap and is significantly better than the cheap frost damage elixir i got before.
  • Bring 2 stacks of arcane powder not 1 (could run out if we wiped more)
  • There’s a side entrance to Kara.
  • Ally were killing horde at meeting stone for a while. Maybe I should have ported everyone to Stonard instead of waiting near kara. Similarly, if someone needs to repair, maybe I should go with them and port them to Stonard after they repair so that the raid doesn’t have to run back to the entrance to summon them. I’m not sure if riding back from Stonard is actually better or worse than going outside to summon. (If someone had Field Repair Bot, that’d be better.)
  • Could ask if anyone needs to repair right when we reach the back entrance from normal play, since it’d be easy to summon them if they repair right then.
  • Opera event is one random boss, not all 3.
  • Aran blizzard rotates clockwise, so blink away from it counter-clockwise. Also it doesn’t hit the middle, but he has aoe counterspell in the middle (I don’t know if they can happen at the same time or not).
